Green line: Represents the lands of Kazkadea, that which the Kazkadean Resistance fought to liberate.  

Red line: Represents the fight to free the nation.

White line: Represents a new start for a now independent Kazkadean people.  

For a time after the warring age, Kazkadea (KAZ-KA-DEE-AH) was left alone by it's neighbors, do to it's mountainous terrain, armed neutrality, concessions to other powers, and unimportance in international affairs.   

This changed when a 100 years before the great war, it was invaded and occupied by Noble Caldeila (CAL-DEL-AH), after a short war. Caldeila, was in a bad state at the time and looked at the weaker Kazkadea and saw a war with them leading to an easy victory, that would give much needed pride to the nation, and bring into fold the newly discovered Kazkadean Coal and Iron deposits.

It was at this point that the industrial age was underway, and the need such materials was at a all time high.

Life under Caldeilan rule was at times fair, but at other times harsh, the proud Kazkadean people hated every minute of it, and most people aided in the quest to kick out the Caldeilans, to the point in which every family had at least some tie to the Resistance.  

The Resistance constantly made life hard for Caldeila, it was always a problem, one that could be defeated, yes, but one that never went away. And after 129 years of occupation, Kazkadea was freed, do to decades of guerrilla and terrorist attacks, and the economic trouble caused by the great war, lead to the occupation being too costly for Caldeila to maintain.

So the Caldeilan forces picked up shop and started for home, but not before damaging as much as they possibly could, and taking every item of value they could bring back with them. This made many Kazkadeans very mad, so they reformed the Resistance into an army and chased the Caldeilan forces all the way to the border, where the two sides started to fight.

Until some of Kazkadea's neighbors said they where willing to help protect the new state in return for ending the conflict.
They accepted, and the battle was over. Negotiations between both sides took place, with the neighbors acting as the middleman, and the result ended with an agreement that the new Kazkadean state was to be recognized; that the borders where to stay as they were; that Caldeila would hand over all Kazkaden prisoners to their homeland; and that they had to pay Kazkadea a small amount of money to get the new nation up and running.

Caldeila accepted just to be done with it all, the whole affair was making them look bad, and money that they paid Kazkadea was the money that they took from Kazkadea, no real loss, because they got to keep the rest of what they had taken.

Now the new state had to deal with nation building. They ended up forming a provisional government, which is still provisional to this day, this news is troubling to most Kazkadens, who ask why this is still so.

Then is the border between them and Noble Caldeila which has the worst mess of enclaves and exclaves in the world, do to the agreement counting border territory as wherever the battle lines of both sides lay during the time of the negotiations. The area has earned the reputation as "The Nightmare of Cartographers" around the world.

All and all, the Kazkadean people have been though a lot in the last century, and still have a ways to go, but in that time they have been fighting for their nation, and they aren't going to quit now!
