News for Bounty’s Beginning, First Two Weeks, 1831

- Maldrecoy and Other Cites Liberated; Allied-Coalition War's End In Sight! -


The last two weeks were dominated by news of the end of the Allied-Coalition War. While it seemed the end was inevitable, Enshaw’s Battlegroup Epsilon, who led the charge against the remaining Last Order forces in Maldrecoy, did not take any chances. With support from the Ehkeronian Airfortress BTK Defender and BTK Perseverance, Epsilon managed to destroy the Last Order’s heavy weapons and capture its commanders by the 3rd. However, it was only the 5th of Bounty’s Beginning that Commander Mura Kyung announced that the city was liberated after a group of six Last Order cavalrymen were found held up in the basement of an abandoned auto plant on Maldrecoy’s south shore.

An official ceremony was held at the Tempest Monument, with pro-zuustland militia members as well as Battlegroup Epsilon being feted throughout the recently liberated city. Staatsminister Helga Ebert presented Kyung the newly minted “Defender of the Zuustland” medal, the Enshawdian commander being the first to receive the award. His speech from the Tempest Monument, while originally aimed at the Last Order, is being taken as a rally cry for Lanzarote Loyalists around the world.

Right now I'm freezing my balls, the coffee tastes like absolute garbage, most of us never saw snow in our damned lives, and we just came from fighting in the slush. My younger brother died alongside a bunch of sun scorched mercs at the beginning of this stupid war, which is nice and you know what? I still push on. we all do. you do.

Because the enemy is out there! We've seen them and they're absolutely shirding insane. I've seen the doubts in your hearts if whether or not what we do is right, and I tell you that I am no saint, but that those men out there want nothing more but to oppress and to impose their whatever ideals on those who did not ask for this, and those who do not deserve this.

We will never end evil in the world. I do not expect you to. But having seen what we've seen, what few others have I tell you, men, that we must fight! It is the reason we're here, it is the reason we exist. It's our f%#@ing job.

- Taejo, Executed For Treason; ENPF Declare's Military Junta! -

In Mura’s homeland, things continue to be unstable. On the 3rd, the Third Directorate announced that Prime Director Taejo had been found guilty of conspiring with Karelian and Talingod agents within Lanzarote and that he would be executed for treason. In the ensuing chaos, the ENPF declared martial law in Lanzarote and announced the beginning of a military junta. Who is at the top is not yet known, and it could be that ENPF high command is jointly administering the city.

- Battle For Sorsogon Still A Stalemate; Major Battle Fought For Isulan Space Center;
South Arcean Expatriates Under Karelian Leadership, Take Al Este Kalpala! -

The battle for Sorsogon seems to have no end in sight. Desperate house to house fighting between the encircled Loyalist Battlegroup: Omega and Talingod supporting Battlegroup: Himeros has achieved little more than causing further destruction in the once idyllic city known for its beaches and marinas. Despite being encircled within the confines of the city, Omega has continued to fight just as ferociously as ever, but rumors are that the situation is continuing to deteriorate, especially as the cities remaining food supplies continue to be drained in the parts of the city the force occupies. The loyalist SIPF militia had attempted a breakout but was wiped out by Himeros forces in the city outskirts. Civilian casualties had just crossed the 2,000 mark at the time of the publishing of this article Bounty’s Beginning, 14th.

Above Isulan, loyalist Battlegroup: Kappa fought against Talingod Battlegroup: Thalassa. Hoping to continue the space program to calm public concerns over the war, the Talingod government has been constructing a new satellite with plans to launch it in the coming months. Concerned the launch may give the Talingod Government undue legitimacy, the ENPF launched a strike on the Isulan Space Center, hoping to stop the construction of the new satellite.

Fighters from the Battlecarriers EAV Sunrise and Sundawn opened the battle with Vesper wings crippling several Great War era airredoubts and airreduits within Thalassa’s force. The EAV Sunlight Devourer then entered the battle, sparring with the ROES Geuneul, a great war era airfortress, alongside its equal aged escorts in the 1st Home Defence Squadron. Receiving several hits, the Geunel was forced to retreat, leaving most of its escorts to be destroyed by the Sunlight Devourer and Vesper fighters. The ROES Jaesijag, and the 2nd Home Defence squadron, attempting to flank the battlecarriers at high altitude were then spotted on radar by the Devourer, which was then forced to let off the attack to save its battlecarriers. A magazine strike on the Jaesijag saw it explode at 8 macs in the air, killing most of the crew instantly. By that point, most of the 1st Home Defence Squadron was destroyed, so the Sunlight Devourer saw to ending the remaining Talingod Loyalist ships.

With the main air defences destroyed, Vesper Fighters bombed the satellite construction buildings, destroying them in two rounds of strikes the next morning. In the end, the Talingod Government's hopes to using the space program as a propaganda tool and a means of gaining legitimacy were dashed.

The Enshawdian Al Este Kalpala archipelago was not spared from the bloodshed either. A force composed largely of South Arcean expatriates under Karelian Commandant Aodh attacked Enshawdian Battlegroup: Alpha at Jagyeongnu, the main island within the Al Este Kalpala chain. In the early morning hours of the 5th, Aodh’s force landed, taking Puerto de Salida with some minor casualties. Alpha retreated to Los Corrida, hoping to ambush an overzealous attacker. Instead, with classic South Arcean discipline, Aodh’s force patiently waited as DRS Stanoveno and Rezolutni pounded Alpha endless. Ultimately, the Enshawdian defenders were forced to fall back to Bujeog Sigye, the dormant volcano that forms the highest portion of the island. With the central jungle cleared, the South Arcean’s attacked, now backed by Karelian air cavalry. Alpha did its best to survive attacks by spirited South Arcean’s supported by the airships of Moezandzak. However the 7th, Moezandzak began to introduce chemical shells to its harassing barrages. An attempt to send extraction to the island on the 10th was stopped by Moezandzak and by the 11th, the forces of Battle Group: Alpha had broken.


- Karelia Back's North Ghurrkan Government;
Coalition Council Issues Ultimatum, Intervention Means A Road To War! -

The chaos that seems to be enveloping the world also spread its wings to North Ghurrka. A recent scandal attaching the king and much of the royal family to a drug trafficking ring has caused a sudden and dramatic turn against the government on levels not seen in almost a century. While the king remains adamant that he had nothing to do with this, many of the nation's major papers have stated otherwise. Witnesses with ties to family backing the claims and North Ghurrkan Intelligence leaking documents have all undermined the king. Regardless, the king has made it clear that he is not stepping down, and there are concerns the people will not accept that answer.

With their backs against the wall, the North Ghurrkan government broke and asked the Karelian government if they could join the Royal League on the 10th. Understanding the volatility of the situation, Royal League officials arrived in Boanne by airship before the end of the day with all of the documents and papers needed to make North Ghurrka’s entry official. From the steps of the Royal Palace, in the early hours of morning on the 11th, Karelia ambassador to North Ghurrka Calixte Choudhary made it clear that Karelia will back the North Ghurrkan government no matter the cost.

On the 12th, the Coalition Council made it clear that they would not accept Karelian intervention in North Ghurrka. After a day of meetings in Contact, they released a joint statement condemning the King as well as the royal family, while also demanding Karelia does not intervene. The statement ended with an ultimatum, intervention means a road to war.

Outside of the fighting, the the world has continued on.

A recently published Arcean book is raising an uproar in both Arcea and Karelia. The book, written by a former Section 5 agent focuses on a recently declassified set of documents explaining the inner workings of Karelia’s government. The book, in short, states a quiet coup against Karelia’s Elder Council by Lady Birgir and a collection of Great War Veterans who now run Karelia from Landsdowne. Surprisingly, Frida has ordered Karelia censors to allow the sale of the expose in Karelia, stating “a few pieces of paper with half truths printed on them is not a threat to me or the crown.”
